Why Hire a Professional Organizer?

Don’t feel guilty or blame yourself for being disorganized.  There is no formal course in school that teaches organizing skills.  How can you know something you’ve never been taught…unless it comes naturally? 

You don’t have to be organized to the same degree as someone else.  You only have to be organized to a degree that helps you work efficiently and productively.

You hire an accountant for your payroll and tax needs.  You hire a financial consultant for your financial needs.  You hire a cleaning service when you are too busy to clean your house.  You hire a lawn service to take care of your lawn.  Hiring a professional organizer is no different.  You are hiring someone experienced to put your home, your business or your life in order.

  1. Feel comfortable.  Your organizer will be asking you questions to get an idea what it is you want to accomplish.   You want to work with an organizer that you feel comfortable talking to and sharing your ideas with.
  1. Confidentiality.  Your organizer should tell you up front that anything they see, or you say, is held in strictest confidence. 
  1. Expertise and experience.  Ask your organizer what organizations they belong to and how they got their organizing experience. 
  1. Clear explanations.  Expect to have your questions answered.  If you don’t understand the explanation the first time, don’t hesitate to keep asking questions until you do understand.
  1. Discuss services and costs.  A professional organizer is used to giving estimates and quoting prices for their services.  Feel comfortable in asking any questions you have regarding pricing.
