Who is Your Professional Organizer? In the June-July 2007 edition of NAPO News (National Association of Professional Organizers), the new incoming president of NAPO, Standolyn Robertson, had this to say. “I’m working toward the day when we experience the shift from ‘What is a professional organizer?’ to ‘Who is your Professional Organizer?’ I keep this goal in mind daily in my business. I anticipate the day when clients feel no shame associated with hiring an organizer. One of my personal goals is to empower members of my community about the benefits of working with a professional organizer. I want them to realize there’s more to this business that what TV makeover programs call ‘the big reveal.’ Rather, it’s about fine-tuning the morning routine to get an extra hour of productivity out of the day, or a desk-side consultation that transfers skills to ensure more business focus and success.” Whether you are fairly organized and want to fine-tune your systems, don’t have the time to organize yourself, born without an organizing gene and need full assistance and advice, or just desire the energy and objectivity of an organizer to help, who is your professional organizer? |
