What to Expect from a Professional
Organizer
A professional organizer works with you
to come up with solutions to organize your time, your tasks, your living space,
your work space, your papers and your files. The PO will ask you questions
about what areas of your life are bothering you and will work with you to make
your organizing goals a reality. The result is reduced stress and more time to
do what you truly want to do. You have the right to expect the following from
your organizer:
- Feel comfortable. Your organizer will be asking you
questions to get an idea what it is you want to accomplish. You want to
work with an organizer that you feel comfortable talking to and sharing your
ideas with.
- Confidentiality. Your organizer should tell you up
front that anything they see, or you say, is held in strictest confidence.
- Expertise and experience. Ask your organizer what
organizations they belong to and how they got their organizing experience.
- Clear explanations. Expect to have your questions
answered. If you don’t understand the explanation the first time, don’t
hesitate to keep asking questions until you do understand.
- Discuss services and costs. A professional organizer
is used to giving estimates and quoting prices for their services. Feel
comfortable in asking any questions you have regarding pricing.
