What to Do with 30 Minutes to Spare?

I received an email from a mother, who stated that she is frustrated by having to wait 30 minutes or so while her daughter is taking piano lessons, at Girl Scout meetings, etc.  Oh boy…what some of us would give to have an extra 30 minute block of time!  Here are some suggestions I came up with to fill that 30-minute wait in the car:

  1. Read a book
  2. Read a magazine
  3. Read an article pertaining to business or a hobby
  4. Work on a hobby, such as knitting, cross stitch or crocheting
  5. Write a letter to a friend
  6. Send a card of encouragement to a business associate
  7. Make your holiday gift list
  8. Return phone calls
  9. Call an old friend you haven’t talked to in a while.
  10.  Peruse catalogs
  11.  Write in your journal
  12.  Sort through some pictures to be used for scrapbooking
  13.  Take a nap
  14.  Take a walk
  15.  Take the dog with you and walk the dog
  16.   Plan a theme for a scrapbook project
  17.   Study your Sunday School lesson
  18.   Run an errand that is nearby that you could complete in 30 minutes
  19.   Plan your menus ahead for next week.
  20.   Start a card ministry for shut-ins and/or elderly in your church/neighborhood
  21.  Start a journal for each of your children stating your feelings and love for them
  22.  Take your laptop and work on a project
  23.  Catch up on emails from your laptop or smart phone.
  24.  Clean out your purse or wallet
  25.  Take a dustrag and dust the inside of the car

I jotted these down in just a few moments.  If you can think of others to add to the list, send me an email at bwestby@nomorechaos.biz and I’ll pass them along.
