Frugal Organizing for the Kitchen

Getting organized does not have to bust your budget.   Look around the house!  Ziploc bags, mugs, shoe boxes, bank check boxes, wet wipe containers, baby food containers, ice cube trays, your collection of shot glasses…all these can be used to organize on a shoestring.

Here are a few objects that can function as free or nearly free kitchen organizers:

Ziploc bags – all sizes

          Contain plastic food storage lids

          Store plastic cutlery

          Contain bag clips

          Contain twist ties

          Food storage

Plastic storage containers

          Food storage

          Contain bag clips

          Contain twist ties

Store dry mix envelopes, such as salad mix

Mugs

Use a pretty mug to hold often used kitchen utensils

Baby Food Containers

          Store spices

          Use as a Toothpick holder

          Contain twist ties

If you’ve got a little money to spend, I would suggest splurging on Expandable Drawer Organizers for the kitchen.  They expand to fit any size kitchen drawer and contain all your kitchen gadgets.  Average cost is $10-$20 each.  Click here to see a picture of one in use at the No More Chaos website: http://www.nomorechaos.biz/pictures_kitchen_solutions.htm.
