Clutter-Free Kitchen Counters
Kitchen counters can become a catch-all
for items family members neglect to put away. Sometimes we just try to put too
much stuff on the countertops and the result is a cluttered look. Here are some
tips for clean, organized counter tops:
-
Find room
in the pantry or cabinets for open containers of food, canisters and bread.
Transfer the contents of open boxes to clear, airtight containers. Your
food will stay fresh longer. Being able to see in the clear container helps
you know when you are getting low and need to add that item to your grocery
list.
-
Keep
appliances and knickknacks on the counter to a minimum. Only items with
high frequency use should remain on the counter. All others should be
housed in lower cabinets or in the pantry.
-
Consider
using a sponge caddy that attaches to the inside of the cabinet door to hold
wet sponges.
-
A soap
caddy will keep soap and lotion organized and off the sink or counter
surface.
-
Pour your
soap into a label free soap caddy. Cleaning supplies with busy packaging
can create a sense of clutter.
-
Counter
tops will be easier to keep clear if drawers and cabinets are organized.
